During his meeting with the President of Armenia acting minister of Agriculture I. Arakelyan reported about the structural reforms, as well as the priorities of the agricultural sector and the implementation of targeted programs by state support.
I. Arakelyan reported that this year the project of giving fertilizers, diesel fuel, seeds, subsidized loans lines to farmers , has continued, the new projects were also launched focusing on the development of the sector.
The President instructed to promotion the projects of producing competitive agricultural products for export, replacing imports with local production, the mechanization of agricultural equipment of the park and the provision of agricultural machinery leasing, as well as programs aimed at increasing the efficiency and increase of farm incomes.
It is also tasked to develop a clear timetable for the introduction of specific targeted projects and continued work to make available resources to farmers for an irrigation drip system, anti-hail nets, and implement programs to promote the establishment of intensive fruit orchards.
Acting minister's report also included the introduction of the insurance system, streamlining procurement process, forest services program, as well as current and expected outcomes of the production and efficient use of fish and shellfish of Sevan lake, and conservation of resources, the work of promotion of livestock farming and seed production.
