
On June 12-16, the volume in foreign exchange inter-bank market of Armenia increased by 6.5%, after the 40% drop in last week. Simultaneously, the inter-banking market saw an upward trend, with higher rates on euro and ruble transactions on sale, while the dollar was more actively sold than purchased. Under these circumstances, the stock market was silent again.
As a result, the AMD exchange rate against the US dollar dropped from 482.5 to 481.5 drams , euro from 541 to 537 drams and ruble from 8.5 to 8.3 drams / a ruble. Before that, on June 16, 2016, the dram rate was 478 drams for 1 dollar, 539 drams to 1 euro, and 7.4 drams to 1 ruble.
According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, there were no deals on NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on June 12-16. In the inter-bank foreign exchange market the volume amounted to 6.6 mln dollars. The average exchange rate was 482.18 drams / $ 1 (482.77 / $ 1 in last week). The maximum volume of the inter-bank money market was recorded on Monday and it was $ 1.5 million, and the minimum was $ 600,000 on Friday. Simultaneously, the volume of dollar buying / selling by foreign banks in the inter-bank foreign exchange market went up by 30-36.7%, following the decline of 22.7% -9%,. In ruble transactions the 18.8% to 8.4% down was replaced by 4.7-17.2% growth, and in euro transactions - from 4.5% down to 15.4%-15.5% growth, and in purchase from 17.5% to 56.5%. As a result, $ 79.3 million was purchased at the average exchange rate of 481.54 drams / $ 1, 13.3 million euros at an average rate of 537.62 drams / 1 euro, 14 billion rubles at the average exchange rate of 8.39 drams / a ruble, and $ 93.2 million was sold by 482.93 AMD / $ 1 average exchange rate,$ 13.5 million euro at an average rate of 541.71 drams / 1 euro and 421.1 million rubles at the average exchange rate of 8.50 AMD/ 1 RUB.
