The National Statistical Service for the first time investigated the wage structure in Yerevan. 90 companies with more than 50 employees were investigated, covering 9 areas of economic activity.

82% of the organizations under investigation were medium-sized (50-249 people), where predominated education (30%), health and social services to the population (21%) and wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repairs and motorcycles (20%).

The average age of workers in the organizations was 44 years, three out of five workers were females, with a higher education, 41% were highly qualified specialists (teacher, doctor, accountant, financial specialist, programmer, etc.), 85% with full-time work, nine of ten with indefinite period of labor contracts, and 86% with an hourly wage.

According to the results of the pilot study, the average hourly gross and net wages (with and without income tax and other payments ) were calculated for the first time, according to which the average worker earns 1605 drams per hour, including taxes - 1190 drams, excluding taxes.

Experimental research also showed that the programmer gets almost 3 times more per hour than the engineer for the same period of time.
