
In the first half of 2017, the State Food Safety Service exercised control over 622 subjects, including 362 inspections, 186 screenings, 74 epidemiological monitoring. This was stated during a press conference of the National Food Safety Service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture.
The production process of 35 economic entities was suspended, 37 decisions were made on the work permit. In the first quarter of 2017, service inspectors visited 8,000 economic entities throughout the country.
Vahe Danielyan, head of the Food Safety and Quality Control Inspectorate, highlighted the most frequent violations, noted that special attention was paid to issues related to food safety in pre-school and general education schools, the information and public relations department reports.
In the sphere of production of soft drinks, control measures were carried out in 34 economic entities, the production process of 16 of them was temporarily suspended.
As a result of inspections, since the end of 2016, 20 business entities have been suspended in the sphere of bread production, mainly due to non-compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards. Significant changes were made already in 2017, they carried out the reconstruction and modernization of production facilities. The service has already announced that from September 1 bakery products and meat should be transported through vehicles with sanitary passports, notices of which have already been sent to 1316 enterprises.
In the first half of 2017, the service suspended the production process of 13 economic entities engaged in the production of dairy products. Since the beginning of July, inspections have been carried out in the ice cream market of 14 subjects. The state control of dairy products continues, although four ice cream production units have already been suspended.
According to the head of the inspection Hovhannes Mkrtchyan, in the veterinary field, 58 economic entities were subject to state control. Instructions were given to eliminate the identified shortcomings: in 43 places for the sale of meat, in 5 organizations that carry out veterinary and sanitary examinations, in 5 farms and 5 slaughterhouses.
Within the framework of the program "Inoculations of farm animals", 3.5 million epidemic events of large and small cattle were realized.
About 6 business entities carrying out deliveries were inspected, as a result of which some suppliers have already begun to purchase certain lots of fresh meat in slaughterhouses. The service tightened control over all levels of meat sales, and the conditions in the meat shops in Khorenatsi Street have improved significantly.
In the phytosanitary field, according to the head of the inspection, Artur Nikoyan, it is planned to conduct about 6000 tests and subject them to a laboratory examination to identify diseases and pests of plants.
The service also paid attention to greenhouses. In 2017, more than 100 pesticides and agrochemicals were registered, at the same time, strict control was established over the import of pesticides and agrochemicals, which makes it possible to prevent the import of low-quality pesticides and agrochemicals into our country, protect farmers from economic losses and minimize possible negative consequences for the environment and human health.
