Armenian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in Russian Federation Vardan Toghanyan, Adviser of the Minister of Economic Development and Investments Gagik Mkrtchyan and RA Trade Representative Karen Asoyan met in Moscow with Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev to discuss the opportunities of cooperation expansion between Armenia and Russia in jewelry and diamond industry.

According to the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, during the meeting the sides discussed the issue of increasing the efficiency of supply of diamond raw materials, both from "Alros" and "Gohran". Members of the Armenian delegation in their talk with the group, headed by Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia also touched upon the issues of mutual recognition of the state hallmarking and assertion. The sides discussed the use of innovative approaches and new mechanisms to solve the problem. An agreement was reached to take practical steps as soon as possible. Gagik Mkrtchyan, Advisor of the Minister of Economic Development and Investments, said the implementation of these agreements will ensure the sustainability of the sector.
