In the community of Yeraskhavan in Ararat region, "Green Farms" company is going to establish intensive gardens of cherry, apricot and apple, with a total area of ​​31 hectares.

Hayk Hunanyan, the director of the company, who has visited the community, told Ignati Arakelyan that construction works are being carried out and the planting works will be carried out next spring.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, the first harvest is expected to get in the next year of planting, and the main crop will start to receive in the 5th year. It is anticipated that the harvest of all kinds of fruit will be around 5000 tons.

The garden will be entirely covered by anti-hail networks, and the cherries by an anti-irrigation network, a drip system will be used and the antifreeze system will be introduced to avoid frostbite. He assured that drip irrigation will enable to achieve a 30% increase in yield. Technique has been acquired by the agricultural machinery leasing program to effectively carry out the work in the garden.

"Establishing intensive gardens in early and late ripening areas can be very profitable because the harvest of such gardens is more valuable and its sale is guaranteed. For this purpose, we will implement a new project from 2018, which will provide 5% of the loans to the gardeners for up to 10 hectares with a maturity of up to 5 years, "the minister said, adding that everyone who wishes may apply to the project.
