"We have set a goal to increase agricultural productivity in Armenia and we have all the necessary prerequisites for it," Karen Karapetyan said at the opening of the "ArmAgroForum" forum.

He noted that this should be achieved through the introduction of modern technologies, high-value agriculture development, replacement of imports, expansion of export volumes and geography, and favorable conditions for farmers' activities.

"Special attention is paid to the increase of food security level. Objectively assessing our current situation we have to state that along the way of agricultural development we also have a lot of problems that we need to address: sustainable supply of irrigation water, zoning, non-cultivated lands, lack of productivity and efficiency. Solving problems requires consistent work from each of us, "said Karen Karapetyan,

According to the government's press and information department, the Prime Minister noted that agriculture is one of the most important branches of our economy, which ensures employment in rural areas, promotes rural income generation and improvement of living standards, export growth and macroeconomic stability.

He noted that Armenia will have other agricultural products year after year.

"I am convinced that we have a great potential in this area; we just have to make some changes, and we will review our standard methods. We do not have problems with the markets if we produce the right goods, "Karen Karapetyan underscored.
