Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a consultation, during which a package of legislative amendments aimed at solving problems in the operation of gas filling stations and gas cylinders and the procedure for carrying out technical inspection of motor vehicles were discussed.

According to the RA government press service, it was reported that in the above mentioned package it is proposed to license the installation of gas tanks on transport means operating by compressed natural liquefied petroleum gas in Armenia and test the pressure by the established schedule, which aims to raise the level of citizens' security. Legislative changes also provide for other control measures. The prime minister considered it necessary to simplify the licensing mechanism and highlight the expansion of the involvement of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations in the promotion of security. Karen Karapetyan, taking into consideration the proposals presented during the discussion and possible corruption risks, instructed to update the package of legislative amendments once again and present it to the government staff.

It was also reported that technical inspection of vehicles will be carried out without technical inspection checks, all the motor vehicles will be subjected to technical inspection. It was mentioned that the process will be carried out under electronic control, which will be implemented by the RA Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies and the Police.
