From now on, the most popular tourist destination, Garni and Geghard, will be able to travel without giant holes. A landslide 1,8 km section of the highway linking Voghjaberd was renovated and repaired. There will also be markings in a few days.

But the main thing is that there is a special status on this road. From January 2018 the road service will be regular and periodic - all months of the year.

"We have applied to the government so that the 1.8 kilometer section will be given a special status and we will avoid landslides during the whole year," said Ashot Arshakyan, director of "Armenian Roads Directorate" SNCO.

There are five landslides on the way to Geghard, this part is the longest, the rest are relatively short, 20, 30 or 50 meters, so the main focus is on this 1.8 km.
