
RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan has met with Diaspora Armenian businessman Joseph Weasf, who heads the "Wassef Group". The company is one of the leading exporters and producers of Egyptian cotton and cotton fabric.
Joseph Wecef told the Minister that he wants to establish a production in the light industry. The investor noted that their chain of companies specializes in all production stages: knitting, rotating, digital and piece printing, embroidery, decoration, stitching and packing. The company supplies products to world renowned brands.
The minister discussed with the investor the possibilities of setting up a garment production in Armenia, the Armenian government's support for investors' instruments, export opportunities, and other details.
According to Joseph Weasf, the Armenian labor force is one of the best in the world and Armenian specialists are aware of their work, which will make their work easier. The investor noted that they could create more than 1000 jobs.
According to the agreement reached at the end of the meeting, with the support of the Ministry the businessman will start preparatory works and necessary studies.
