The largest solar power plant in the province has been opened in the village of Yenokavan in Tavush region. The choice of the official opening day was conditioned by international day of energy.Armenian Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan said: "Opening of solar power plant is a breakthrough in energy security. It is an opportunity to use the potential of renewable energy in Armenia and to ensure energy independence of our country. Even under unfavorable weather conditions, the plant produces 147 kW of electricity. The solar map of Tavush is a place with few resources in our country, as it is a damp and wet zone. It is particularly bad in December. In spite of this, the station has provided surprising figures. Moreover, the results have been recorded using our local solar panels. "
The solar power plant in Yenokavan has 147 kilowatts capacity. It can generate up to 208,000 kWh of electricity annually. The startup will save 745,000 drams per month and by 7.2 tones will be reduced greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. The sun's intensity in the Tavush region of Armenia is more than 1,500 kWh per 1 square meter, 1.5 times more than in Europe.
"We are proud that ACBA Leasing has been financing the most powerful photovoltaic station in Tavush region. We have implemented a large number of projects in the field of clean energy. The result is satisfactory because we have been able to build effective relationships with organizations working in the field. Using our long-term experience in the financial field and strong relationships with our partners today, we are able to offer favorable conditions and new solutions through Green Leasing to investors, "said ACBA Leasing CEO Arsen Bazikyan.
