At the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments the annual meeting of SME Development center's Board of Trustees took place at which Executive Director of the center Levon Mnatsakanyan and sector officials presented to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan and other trustees a report and main results.

In the result of SME Development center's activities in Armenia in 2017,

81 start-up and operating SMEs were provided with a loan guarantee of around half a billion drams, of which 9 were within the framework of investment programs submitted to the Prime Minister.

As a result of the support, 81 SMEs have attracted about AMD 1.1 billion of their own funds. Numerous guesthouses, greenhouses, dried fruits, milk processing plants, etc. were established and expanded. And recently, a hippodrome was opened in Gomk community of Vayots Dzor, which is also a tourist center.

According to approved business plans, it is planned to create about 330 new workplaces, about 50% of which have already been created.

As for international cooperation, 11 infrastructure projects were implemented in the Shirak, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Ararat regions within the framework of the Partnership for Rural Communities Promotion (USAID / PRP) project funded by USAID and the Consortium led by SME Development center, from which will benefit 26 residents of the community.
