The number of passengers at Armenia's airports in 2017 exceeded 2.5 million recording an annual growth of 20.6% . This was reported by the press service of the Civil Aviation Administration.

Only in December, the number of passengers increased by 7.9% at "Zvartnots" and "Shirak" airports, up to 206.6 thousand compared to 192.5 thousand last year.

Zvartnots International Airport received 2.4 million passengers during the reporting period, which is 16.3% higher than the annual index. Freight traffic in the airport increased by 22.1% to 22.3 thousand tons.

Particularly, the number of passengers in Gyumri's Shirak airport reached 105.6 thousand, while a year earlier this figure was only 12.4 thousand. Only in December, the number of passengers at "Shirak" airport reached 14.6 thousand instead of the previous year's 2 thousand.

According to the source, departures and landings have increased by 18% at Armenia's airports.
