RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan made a speech at the "Digital Agenda in the Age of Globalization" conference in Almaty today.

Introducing the digital agenda of Armenia, the Prime Minister emphasized that digital transformation is not only a step towards technological progress, but also the only opportunity to become a country with effective governance and economy in a short period of time, and there are no alternatives for us here.

"The IT sector in Armenia is actively developing. Over the past years we have about 25% growth in this field. We have not yet summed up last year's results but expect 28-30% growth, "said Karen Karapetyan.

In his speech, the prime minister also touched upon the educational sphere, noting that chess is taught as a subject in all the schools of Armenia, even in distant regions, as well as robotic and information technologies, and this year, business and finances. Karen Karapetyan also spoke about the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies noting that in 2016 it was recognized as the best innovative school in the world, and currently the center is expanding not only within but outside the country. Recently, the Paris City Hall has announced the opening of such a center.

Touching upon the digital agenda of Armenia, the prime minister said that rapid digital speeds are currently being implemented in 6 major directions of digital transformation,

• Digital Government

• Digital skills

• Infrastructure

• Cyber ​​security

• Private sector

• Institutional bases.

"In order to effectively coordinate the national digital agenda, the Armenian government has set up the Digital Armenia Foundation in 2017 and developed the" Digital Transformation Agenda for Armenia 2018-2030 "development program. According to the digital agenda, by 2030 we intend to achieve a 100% index and 80% in "state-business" and "services", "said Karen Karapetyan.

Heads of governments of the Eurasian Economic Union, international experts and specialists from the IT sector took part in the conference.
