Referring to the speech of RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan at the "Digital Agenda in the Age of Globalization" forum held in Almaty in February, the author notes that over the past few years the IT sector in Armenia has registered a 25% increase. "As a result, our goal should be to increase efficiency and deliver targeted solutions to customers. This is our main strategy for coming years. It is not so easy, considering that 70% of IT turnover generates global market services, which means that macroeconomic factors are very important for the Armenian IT sector, "the minister said. The article also notes that the turnover of IT in 2010-2016 increased 5 times and reached $ 510 million. At the same time, the number of IT companies increased three times during the same period. "In the country where 2.9 million people live, there are 60 universities, of which 15 technology departments are rather strong. In 2014-2015 there were 10,000 students with information and high-tech specialization, which is 11.7% of the total number of students, "reads the article.
"We are part of a global society and global changes affect us the same way as others," Vahan Martirosyan said in his speech. "In every nation only 6-8% are born with technical thinking and abilities, we must be able to use that potential in full. We should be able to make the quality of our education better than ever, because only educated people can boost ambitious plans and projects. We should be able to use the potential of the Armenian Diaspora, "the minister said.
"One of our main programs has become a reality. We have "Armmat" robotics and engineering laboratories that are rapidly growing in schools across the country.
