$ 21mln will be allocated for the improvement of the Yerevan water supply network, $ 7mln from which will provide the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

According to the State Water Committee, the project envisages rehabilitation works for the water supply network, including replacement of new water pipes and pumps, replacement of individual connections and installation of water meters.

Within the framework of Armenia's Water Supply Investment Program, total cost of which is 80 million euros, it is envisaged to reconstruct and upgrade water supply, sewerage networks and water treatment plants in the most vulnerable communities of Armenia's 9 provinces. EBRD's loan participation in this program is € 30 million.

The State Committee for Water Economy has implemented a number of projects with the support of EBRD, two of which have already been completed. One of them was the water project of small communities in Armenia, which was also implemented by EBRD loan resources. Due to this program it was possible to improve water supply in Tavush, Lori, Shirak, Kotayk, Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions, as well as to build wastewater treatment plants in Tavush and Vayots Dzor regions.
