Armenian Health Minister Levon Altunyan received the World Bank healthcare team led by newly appointed head Adanna Chukvuma (healthcare specialist).

As the Ministry of Health informed, the team consisted of Senior Operations Officer Johann Angers, Project Assistant Gabriel Francis and Health Care Advisor Marianna Koshkakaryan.

During the meeting they discussed the change in the project "prevention and control of diseases", which is at the stage of signing. According to the amendment, the screening program for the prevention of non-communicable diseases in Armenia will continue for the next three years. At the same time, new medical centers will be built in Martuni city of Gegharkunik region and Vayots Dzor region which will be equipped with medical equipment and furniture.

With the World Bank's health team, Levon Altunyan the RA Ministry discussed the program for the development of Hematology Center named after Jolyan, implemented under the supervision of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, as well as issues related to the introduction of the electronic health care system and clinical guidelines and practices, considering the options available by the World Bank.

The meeting was attended by Arayik Baghryan, Director of the Health Project Implementation Department of the RA Ministry of Health, and Ani Harutyunyan, Head of Financial and Economic Department of the RA Ministry of Justice.
