
On April 20, the State Minister of Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan received the delegation headed by Ishkhan Karapetyan, head of the State Food Safety Service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture, reported the information and public relations department of the Artsakh Republic state minister's office.
The Minister of State attached importance to the closer cooperation between the State Service of Food Security of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic and noted that there are many things to do in the sphere. According to Harutyunyan, all the reforms in Armenia should be implemented in parallel with Artsakh. In that regard, he urged the guests to assist Artsakh colleagues in the field of cooperation both in professional and technical matters.
"Food security is one of the government's most important issues, and we are interested in the quality of both domestic and imported foodstuffs in line with international standards. It is an important prerequisite not only for providing our population with healthy and qualified food, but also for being competitive and demanding in export, "said A. Harutyunyan.
Expressing gratitude to A. Harutyunyan's for warm welcome, Karapetyan noted that the purpose of the working visit is to discuss with the colleagues the existing problems, the implemented programs and joint actions. He expressed his readiness to exert every effort for active cooperation and coordination of work. Touching upon the planned programs, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the transition to the mandatory slaughterhouse, which will be operated in Artsakh in phased manner.
Issues related to the development of food safety and control systems as well as the introduction of a risk assessment model were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh Zhirayr Mirzoyan and Hamlet Apresyan, the head of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Artsakh.
