Transfers from Russia to Armenia in 2017 increased by 14.6 % as compared to the previous year. Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan stated this at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

"After the deep crisis in Russia, the situation has improved, which has had an impact on the growth of transfers. Of course, if there were no economic sanctions against Russia, perhaps we would have far higher numbers, "Javadyan said.

The Chairman of the Central Bank also added that the transfers from Russia to Armenia have increased in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year.
