First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Acting Mayor Kamo Areyan and Deputy Mayor Vahe Nikoyan visited the above-mentioned construction sites to get acquainted with the construction of the Davtashen-Ashtarak and Babajanyan-Ashtarak highways on the bypass road.
Davtashen - Ashtarak, which is being constructed within the frames of Tranche 2 Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program funded by the Asian Development Bank, will have 6 new traffic lanes, average 28 meters in width, about 5.4 km long. Thus Davtashen administrative district will join the western entrance of Yerevan's Ajapnyak administrative district, Ashtarak highway.
The road link will establish a direct connection between Gevorg Chaush street and Ashtarak highway and Halabyan street - Yeghvard highway and will provide continuous traffic without a lighting regulation. Two-level transport junctions are being constructed at Gevorg Chaush street - Ashtarak highway and Halabyan street - Yeghvard highway links to ensure continuous traffic.
Babajanyan-Ashtarak highway will also have a 9.4km-long, six traffic lanes, with an average of 24 m width.
The responsible people assured that as a result of the work we will have a way corresponding to the international standards bypassing the capital city, connecting the northern and southern entrances of Yerevan, considerably unloading transport flows of the center and main streets of the city.
