Investigations in the sphere of social security and automobile inspection have revealed misuses of about AMD 2.8 billion or $ 5.8 million, of which 164.5 million drams ($ 34.100) have been recovered during the preliminary investigation, the Public Relations Department of the RA Prosecutor General's Office reports.

In July and August, 2018 on corruption cases registered in the field of social security, including: illegal payment to a non-official public servant (Article 3111 of the RA Criminal Code), illegal payment to a public servant who is not an official (Article 3121 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia) (Article 179 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia), embezzling using official position (Article 178 of the RA Criminal Code) ) and committing fraud (Proceedings of the competent authorities of Article 325) of the Criminal Code has initiated a total of 92 criminal cases.

A total of 50 people were charged on the basis of sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation. The damage caused by these criminal cases is estimated at more than AMD 627.3 million, of which 27.5 million drams have been recovered during the preliminary investigation.

During the same period, in the proceedings of the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia with regard to abuses committed in the process of car inspection, such as, fraud (Article 178 of the RA Criminal Code), falsifications (Article 325 of the RA Criminal Code) and Official negligence (Article 315 of the RA Criminal Code) a total of 26 criminal cases have been initiated. The damage caused by the above mentioned criminal cases amounts to 2.1 billion drams, of which 137.3 million drams have been recovered during the preliminary investigation.
