Lena Nanushyan, Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, told journalists in Yerevan on Wednesday that a fine of 50,000 drams will be set up for smoking in public places, and 800,000 drams- for cigarette advertising.

An official may be fined for 200,000 drams if he / she violates cigarette law in his / her territory, and he / she does not take the necessary steps to prevent the offense.

Nanushyan said that the anti-tobacco bill is still under development.

"In any advertisement in the current law, the fine for advertising hidden cigarettes is 500,000 drams, and for the second time within a year - 1 million drams. The program also stipulates that 800,000 drams will be doubled for the second time, "said Nanyushyan.

According to her, the new draft law prohibits smoking in all public areas.
