The head of the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Environmental Inspection of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia submitted to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Inspectorate on the basis of assignments dated 04.07.2018 and 17.07.2018 of the Head of the Inspection Body the results of the inspections carried out in Lydian Armenia CJSC on the facts of illegal subsoil use. Based on this, the State Interests Protection Department of the RA General Prosecutor's Office conducted a study, for which the necessary inspection documents and information were requested from the inspection body.

As a result of the investigation, the facts of illegal use of the entrails by the company within the limits of LV-2 Act of Deception of Amoulsar golden secondary quartzite mine of Jermuk community of Vayots Dzor region were revealed.

Particularly, the Lydian Armenia CJSC has extracted a basaltic mountain mass at depths of 0.5-10 meters from the area of ​​approximately 3 hectares of land and a clay like mountainous mass at depths of 0,5-8 from the area of approximately 3 hectares of land deviating the mining contract and draft conditions. As a result a damage has been caused to the environment, the subsoil, the minerals deposited in it, totaling around 18 million drams.

Taking into consideration the fact that the recorded violations contain the characteristics of crime, the criminal case was initiated by the Department of State Interests Protection of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia for violation of the rules of the use and protection of subsoil and damage caused to the environmental, subsoil and minerals contained therein.

The preliminary investigation was assigned to the RA Investigative Committee.
