The Bank of Russia and the Central Bank of Armenia have started to exchange information on computer attacks and counteracting them.

"The Russian Bank and the Central Bank of Armenia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of information security," the press service of the Russian Bank reported. The document was signed by the President of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan.

"The purpose of this Agreement is to arrange for the interaction between the Parties to address computer attacks aimed at preventing and detecting computer attacks and creating pressure on them by improving the information security of the Parties," the document notes.

On the Russian side, on behalf of the Bank of Russia, the Central Bank of Armenia will cooperate with the Center for Credit and Financial Monitoring, as well as responding to computer attacks.

The terms of the agreement provide for parties to inform each other about computer incidents.

The Republic of Armenia is the second country of the Eurasian Economic Union with which such an agreement is concluded. Earlier, such an agreement was signed with Kazakhstan, and in the future it is also planned with Belarus and Kirgizstan.
