As a result of large-scale complex investigative actions of the operational units of the National Security Service of Armenia and the Investigation Department, a criminal group engaged in the production and sale of counterfeit banknotes was disclosed, more than 850 thousand dollars of counterfeit money was discovered (of which 25 thousand were sold, the rest is at the manufacturing stage), as well as the equipment intended for their printing.

Using the obtained data on the circulation of counterfeit money, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, under operational control, organized the purchase of counterfeit banknotes in the amount of 25 thousand US dollars, immediately after which a simultaneous search was conducted in a total of 13 apartments and cars, as a result of which fake banknotes worth more than $ 835,000 at the manufacturing stage were discovered, as well as computer equipment and other accessories for printing them.

At the place of printing fake money, they also found 1.5 kilograms of narcotic drugs of the type "Marijuana", some of which were weighed and packed and possibly intended for sale.

In the criminal case, seven members of the group were disclosed, detentions were carried out. The preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to detect fake money introduced into circulation.
