The world market for smartphones for the first time recorded a slight decline in sales in 2017, according to ID research report, REGNUM reports.

According to the company's preliminary estimates, last year, 1.47 million smartphones were sold, which is 0.1% lower than the previous year.

At the same time, it is noted that the largest drop in sales was registered in the last three months of the year, when there is usually an increase in holidays.

The biggest drop in sales was recorded in the world's largest markets, China and the United States.
