Shareholders of Walt Disney and 21st Century Fox have approved a merger agreement, says the 21st Century Fox website.

It is noted that the agreement was signed during two separate meetings.

"The merger with Disney and the creation of a new Fox will allow our stockowners to increase their value," said Rupert Merdock, CEO of the company's board of directors.

According to the document, shareholders of the 21st Century Fox will receive $ 38 million, or a share equivalent to that amount in the new company.
