1% inflation recorded in April compared to March, mainly due to a 1.9% inflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, food and non-alcoholic beverages (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 1.8%, while non-food prices and tariffs for services by 0.3% and 0.2% respectively. In April, 2017, consumer prices increased by 2.4 percent compared to December, 2016, including food and soft drinks 6.7% (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes). Non-food prices fell by 1.1 percent and services by 1.3 percent.
The highest index of inflation was in Vanadzor. Consumer prices rose by 1.1 percent.
