National Bank of Bulgaria has got a permission by the European Central Bank to issue euro banknotes.

According to lenta.ru, referring to the Bulgarian regulator's website, Oberthur Fiduciaire SAS joint Bulgarian-Asian company whose shares desposes BZHB, has get the safety and technological standards compliance. The company has also proven that it can maintain comfortable conditions and environmental legislation to ensure employment for its workers.

The company was founded in 2013. The number of employees exceeds 200, and the volume issued banknotes to the international market increased by 60 million to 1 billion pieces.

Earlier, in April, banknote with a face value of 50 euros was put into circulation, on which the name of the European currency was written in Cyrillic font. The banknote was introduced in July of the last year. Cyrillic font usage is due to Bulgaria's accession to the euro zone.

It is believed that during the transitional period Bulgaria will maintain its fixed exchange rate of the national currency lev.
