At the initiative of the State Revenue Committee a number of changes have been made in the process of customs clearance.

Particularly, a new mechanism for locating the place of customs clearance has been introduced, according to the head of the State Revenue Committee Araratyan Customs Department Armen Sargsyan, allowing the whole process to be implemented not only in a special place designated by law, but also in any other customs body. "If the Ararat customs-department is a place of customs declaration for a registered company in Yerevan, the new mechanism allows registering the declaration in that customs but carrying out all control activities, for example, Bagratashen or Meghri's customs-point departments."

The new system will enable those engaged in foreign economic activity to organize their work with high efficiency and timely economy.

According to Armen Sargsyan, a new approach is being introduced in the Ararat customs-department to provide services to individuals. "There is no need for customs broker services to declare citizens' personal use, as the customs is already free."
