Cooperation between Armenian and Georgian companies to be put on a new basis.

In order to create a mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of economic competition, the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and Georgian Competition Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The memorandum was signed by RA SCPEC Chairman Artak Shaboyan and Chairman of the Georgian Competitiveness Agency Nodar Khaduri.

The heads of competitive bodies of the two countries highlighted the crucial role of a competitive environment in the development of the economy. They have outlined the main directions that will serve as a basis for new cooperation in the coming years.

RA SCPEC Chairman Artak Shaboyan noted that Armenian-Georgian trade and economic relations have always been dynamic. "Today, more than 300 companies with Georgian capital are operating in our country. We are glad to see that the representation of Armenian companies in Georgia is quite big, and especially in recent years the number of new companies has grown dramatically. That is why today we attach special importance to the development of a favorable economic environment, with equal and fair competition conditions. "

A. Shaboyan also mentioned in his speech that the two countries are in the same region and have deep economic ties, allowing them to carry out studies, observations and, if necessary, proceedings in this or that commodity market, and the exchange of information between the competent authorities will be more operative and effective. "Since most of the imported goods are imported through Georgia, it is very important for us to get prompt information on pricing in a number of social markets in order to conduct research in dominant commodity markets."
