Under the chairmanship of the SRC Vardan Harutyunyan, the session of the Public Council on Revenue Administration Reforms was held. Representatives of non-governmental organizations representing business interests took part in it.

A wide range of issues related to the RA draft law "On Making Amendments and Addenda to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia" was discussed. The SRC President highlighted the strengthening of the tax discipline of the businessmen by emphasizing the role of each member of the society. "We will continue to consistently fight against vicious phenomena among businesses and employees. We look forward to support NGOs and citizens. " With the proposed amendments to the Tax Code, the SRC finds it important to reinforce the preventive value of the sanctions prescribed by the legislation, including the use of cash register machines. The toughening of responsibility will be accompanied by the improvement of mechanisms for recording violations. The proposed amendments also envisage tightening the responsibility of accounting documents. During the active dialogue, the SRC Chairman expressed willingness to accept a number of constructive proposals voiced by companies representing business interests.

Vahagn Hambardzumyan, chairman of the Association of SME Accountants in Armenia, says the board is a platform for troubleshooting and inventory. The discussions will be followed by the creation of working groups under the mediation of the SRC, with a view to resolving various administrative and policy issues.
