According to the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Advanced Partnership Agreement, signed on November 24 in Brussels, Armenian producers will be able to present their products to the European Union as "Armenian cognac" for another 25 years. It is reported by RBC.

The document states that the name "cognac " is a French-protected geographical name, but the agreement with Yerevan suggests that in the next 25 years, Armenian producers will be able to use the " cognac " name and export it on the same terms and with the same name as now.

According to the source, the European Union will provide Armenia with technical and financial assistance to gradually renounce Armenian producers' brandy, replacing it with the name "brandy".

It is also mentioned that the EU will increase the financial aid to Armenia by providing about 160 million euros in 2017-2020.
