The Armenian government is preparing a subsidizing program for increasing the diesel fuel tariffs.
Minister of Agriculture Ignati Arakelyan noted that the government did not initially subsidize the rise of diesel fuel tariffs. However, in order to mitigate the impact of the rise in prices for diesel fuel on a number of social goods prices, the Ministry of Agriculture carried out a relevant market analysis based on the RA President's instructions. As a result, it was decided to develop a diesel fuel subsidy program for farmers. "The mechanism and size of subsidizing are being clarified, which will be announced later," stated Ignati Arakelyan.
At the same time, according to the minister, everything will be done to preserve the cost of diesel fuel at the level of 380 drams instead of 440 drams starting January 1. "At this stage we expect stabilization of diesel fuel market prices. It is also necessary to clarify the government's resources so that proper subsidization can be organized ", concluded the Minister.
