From January 29 to February 2, 2017 the transactions in the interbank market of Armenian drams fell by 38.1%, as compared to the previous week, after the 0.5% decline of the previous week. At the same time, no deals were made only on Friday, and the largest volumes were registered on Thursdays and Sundays. Simultaneously, the dollar and euro deals have been activated in the foreign currency intra-banking market, reducing interest in the ruble. And the exchange trading platform remains silent.

As a result, the dram started to weaken against the dollar - from 480.5 to 481.5 drams for 1 dollar, from 599.5 to 601.5 drams against 1 euro, and stood at the level of 8.6 drams per 1 ruble.

According to the press service of the Central Bank, the volume of deals made from January 29 to February 2 in the intra-bank foreign currency market of Armenia was $ 6.5 million at the average weighted exchange rate of 480.86 drams for 1 dollar (480.77 drams last week), the maximum volumes were recorded on Thursday and Friday, making $ 2.2 million and $ 2 million, respectively. At the same time, the US dollar exchange rate in the intra-banking market dropped by 0.6% to 11%, and the sales grew from 15.8% to 16.6%. The euro buying dynamics also changed from 41% decline to 53.8% growth, and sales growth from 18.3% to 45.1%. The volume of transactions in the ruble transactions recorded a 30% decline after an 18% increase, with a drop in sales from 1.3% to 17%.
