An amnesty will be imposed on drivers who have violated traffic rules till December 31, 2017. A 13.3 billion dram fine imposed by administrative acts will be forgiven.

According to the government decision, the administrative penalties for administrative offenses provided by the RA Code make a large sum which the addressees are not able to pay due to the socio-economic conditions in the country.

The project rapporteur, Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan, said that the amnesty will not be applied to fines imposed on all types of violations, there will be penalties which will not be forgiven.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan noted that this policy of the government does not mean that "you can drive a car as you like".

"Now we adopt a clear policy, the goal of our law should be to increase the traffic safety, "said the Prime Minister.
