RA Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan received former Minister of Agriculture of Serbia Goran Zhivkov, who is an International Adviser to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, on a two-day visit to Armenia.

The RA Minister of Agriculture highlighted the importance of international high-level consultants in the development and implementation of targeted and effective policies in the agricultural sector.

Artur Khachatryan noted that this year, for the implementation of autumn, the possibility of granting subsidies to farmers in the mountainous zones is being discussed, to reduce the amount of non-cultivated land, which is about 1/3 of the total.

Goran Zhivkov thanked the Minister for warm reception, underlining that he was ready to make the best efforts to be useful to Armenia. He presented Serbia's and the world's best practices in agriculture.
