US sanctions against Iran do not aim to harm Armenia. US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills said this in the framework of the event dedicated to the launch of Gazelle Finance UCO activities in Armenia with the help of American-Dutch capital.

"Sanctions against Iran are directed exclusively to the financing of terrorist acts by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the financing of terrorist attacks in Iraq. Moreover, sanctions will be tied to certain Iranian structures and entrepreneurs who are involved in this activity, "he explained.

The ambassador added that Armenian entrepreneurs who have economic cooperation with Iranian businessmen should receive consultations in the US Embassy to avoid accidentally appearing on the sanctions list. "The US government continues to adhere to its position on supporting Armenia in economic matters," the diplomat emphasized.
