At the government session Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the development of the mining industry and the situation in that sphere.
He told the executive members that despite the fact that mining is the main "locomotive" of Armenia's economic growth, it is not an acceptable model for the current government.
"Our government has repeatedly stated that this model of economic growth cannot be considered as acceptable and one of the important issues of our government is to change that model of economic growth. Not only because the matter concerns the sale of our subsoil, but also the impact of the economic growth generated from the sale of that subsoil, the citizens of Armenia do not feel themselves, "he said, "he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the government should take all measures to establish greater control over the mining industry to make it more qualitative and responsible. Pashinyan said that the public should feel that using the national wealth the society and the state get as much profit as there is actually.
