PayPal Holdings Inc. has agreed to acquire the European financial and technical iZettle AB startup for $ 2.2 billion.

iZettle AB services are used by 400,000 people, representing small and medium enterprises. iZettle AB also offers e-commerce service.

PayPal Holdings Inc., the American giant of digital payments, will allow the company to become the direct competitor of the largest Square Inc payment business, reports Dow Jones.

Square Inc serves a number of organizations that have been previously neglected by PayPal.
