Chinese authorities have decided to reduce customs duties on imports of 1.4 thousand goods from July 1, the average level of tariffs will drop from 15.5% to 6.9%, the RIA Novosti news agency quotes the People's Republic of China.

The downward trend will refer to the wide range of consumer goods within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO) standards in the field of trade in the so-called More Favorable Regime (MFN).

The downturn comes amid the escalation of trade confrontation between China and the United States after the White House announced that the United States from June 15will announce the final list of goods imported from China, subject to 25% taxation.
