Bayer AG has announced that it will attract 6 billion euros through securities placement for buying Monsanto Co. for $ 66 billion, Dow Jones reports.

Due to this, the shareholders will be given the opportunity to receive two new securities for 81 euros each against their 23 securities.

The company announced that it will issue 75 million new securities and expects that the income from capital increase will amount to 6 billion euros.

"It's a significant sum to purchase Monsanto" said Bayer's CEO, Werner Baumann.
