Japan's oil companies are going to completely stop the import of oil from Iran, TASS quoted Nikkei business newspaper.

It has been reported that supplies from Iran should be suspended in October, while Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are seen as alternative sources of raw material imports.

Iranian oil suppliers, such as JXTG Holdings and Idemitsu Kosan, have been warned by the United States about the need for a complete cessation of imports until early 2018 when Washington plans to resume sanctions against Tehran.

In case of Iranian oil purchases, the US threatens these companies with large fines.
