Georgia started accepting JCB payment cards. The largest bank in terms of assets, Bank of Georgia, started their servicing in its acquiring network, becoming the first bank in Georgia to accept JCB cards, the payment system reported.

The press release notes that the banking network includes 279 bank branches, the dominant number of ATMs in the market is 856, and also about 13 thousand POS-terminals, which is one third of the total number in the country.

JCB is one of the leading international payment systems established in Japan in 1961. Currently, there are more than 117 million JCB card holders in the world and more than 31.1 million JCB card merchants in 190 countries.
