The United States has introduced new sanctions against Venezuela, in particular, restrictive measures against the state oil and gas company PDVSA.

Washington will block the assets of the corporation for seven billion dollars.

The sanctions will affect the country's government, all political divisions and institutions, including the Central Bank of Venezuela, as well as all those who advocate for the “Nicolas Maduro regime.”

US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin noted that any purchase of Venezuelan oil could lead to a blocking of buyer's accounts.
