The indicator also includes sales of the Daihatsu and Hino brands.
Earlier in January, Volkswagen reported an increase in sales to 10.8 million vehicles. In addition to the brand of the same name, the German automaker owns the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda passenger cars, Ducati motorcycles, MAN trucks, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial.
Another Japanese automaker, Nissan Motor Co., in 2018 sold 5.65 million vehicles.
