About 150 out of 437 Russian banks are on the verge of bankruptcy. This is reported by "Izvestia" with reference to the participants of the financial market.

The reason for the deterioration of the financial situation of banks, experts call the increased contributions to the Deposit Insurance Agency.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that starting this year, small and medium-sized enterprises are obliged to pay insurance premiums.

“The burden of too high deductions is one of the main problems of small banks,” said Anatoly Kozlachkov, vice president of the Association of Russian Banks.

To solve the problem, market participants created a special working group. In February, the experts of the group should discuss the issues of small credit organizations with the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiulina. Banking market participants will require concessions from the financial mega-regulator.
