The head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, made a statement about inflation in Russia, reports DEITA.RU.
Elvira Sakhipzadovna at a meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington, said that the peak of inflation in Russia has already been overcome. At the same time, Nabiullina said that she could not say this absolutely confidently.
The central bank estimated the peak of inflation at 5.5-6% per annum. Annual inflation in March was 5.3% versus 5.2% in February.
Consumer prices in Russia increased by 0.4% in February, by 1.5% from the beginning of the year and by 5.2% in annual terms.
Earlier, the Bank of Russia had forecast the annual inflation forecast for 2019 in the country. It was noted that inflation will be 5-5.5%.
